Did you get confused?
Published July 12th, 2008 in Marcus SantamariaHola Amigos
It seems I have confused some people.
They want to know, why I created two different
paths to learning Spanish.
Before I answer, let’s take a step back and look at
what it takes to be successful with Spanish.
I don’t mean success in some exam that
you passed, yet you can’t even have a
basic conversation.
Success to me is going deep into a
Spanish speaking country or community,
where nobody speaks any English,
and being able to thrive.
With success you move about with ease,
you go wherever you want and you make
friends.
Instead of feeling like an outsider,
you feel welcome and a part of the
community
To achieve that kind of success you don’t
need to master the subjunctive mode,
por vs para, ser vs esta, 14 verb tenses
or any of the minor grammatical details
that defeat so many people.
How many people have been stopped dead
in their tracks with Spanish lessons
that won’t lead them to communicating
anyway?
I hate to think.
What a waste of effort.
Instead of focusing on minor details, to
survive and thrive in a Spanish speaking
community, you’ll get much further by
paying attention to just two things.
What are the two things you need to concentrate on?
Go to this page to find out.
